"I started this company to give Atlanta homeowners what they really want from a contractor," says founder Marcus. "Someone local. Someone who listens. And someone who builds it right the first time." Too many Metro Atlanta homeowners have a story about a deck contractor who disappeared mid-job, quoted one number and invoiced another, or skipped the permit and left the homeowner holding the risk at resale. Atlanta Deck Builders exists because that shouldn't be the standard.

That means a real person who answers the phone, a written estimate that doesn't change after the fact, and a crew that treats your yard like it's the last job of the day, not the fifth.

Building permits are required for most deck projects across Metro Atlanta, and we manage the entire permit process for you at no additional charge — engineered drawings, filing, and every inspection are on us, not something you have to chase down.

We also pay close attention to details that matter more here than almost anywhere else in the country: hardware sized for humid, hot summers, footing depths and multi-level framing that account for the hilly terrain across Fulton, Cobb, and Cherokee counties, and board spacing that keeps airflow moving so joists don't stay damp after a summer thunderstorm.

What We Won't Do

• We won't quote a number we can't hold. The written estimate is the price — no fuel surcharges, no "while we're in there" upsells sprung on you mid-project.
• We won't skip the permit to save time. An unpermitted deck is a liability you inherit, and it can stall a home sale years down the line. We pull the permit every time it's required, at no extra charge, full stop.
• We won't leave your yard a mess. Materials get staged carefully, scrap gets hauled off daily, and we walk the site with you at the end — not just a text saying it's done.
